My name is Marian and I started my career as a Social Worker. I enjoyed helping children and families but I knew that I wanted more. I felt drawn towards becoming a Counsellor and I took the steps to do this and qualified as a Counsellor in 2009. I then became a Counselling Supervisor in 2015 and a Confidence Coach in 2017.
I am a registered member of the BACP(British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I have spent time as a Volunteer Counsellor at Women’s Aid and Carr’s Lane Counselling Centre in Birmingham. I have been running my own private practice as a Counsellor since 2013.
I am an integrative Counsellor which means that I work using multiple approaches and interventions based on the individual and unique needs of my clients. It is important to me are that a therapeutic relationship and confidentiality is maintained, you feel heard, understood, and that you receive what you need from counselling or coaching with me. I am passionate about being a counsellor and a coach and I work hard to ensure that all of my clients receive a quality service.
I have a YouTube channel ‘Marian Hanson Counselling Service’ which provides a catalogue of informative, counselling-related videos. I have also written articles on the Counselling Directory and I am in the process of writing a few books, hopefully to be published soon.
